This website was created by Ridge Kennedy, a former daily newspaper journalist who still uses his writing skills from time to time.

His interested in the concept of angertainment has evolved over at least two decades. The portmanteau -- angertainment -- became a kind of sticky idea that wouldn't go away. In casual conversation with people, while discussing "right wing media" and similar topics, it seemed to resonate. 

With the arrival of the Trump 2.0 administration, the idea of an "angertainment industry" crystallized and became something that seemed important in helping people understand what is going on in Washington, DC, today.  While destruction is taking place behind the scenes (and the East Wing) the main players in this Republican administration are putting on a show.  More than 20 former angertainers are now working in the current administration. 

The purpose of this site is to introduce the word angertainment into discussions about American politics today. Angertainment, Inc. is a real, powerful, highly profitable business and it is having a huge influence on America. It has captured the Republican party and is holding us all hostage to its unquenchable thirst for "engagement" and profits.

We think it is important to give this powerful force in the media industry a name.
